Area Churches of Note
- Tinney Chapel United Methodist Church
- This Winnsboro-area church is known around these parts as The Quintessential Country Church. We're talkin' -- you walk out the front door of the church and gaze right into a beautiful pasture full of grazing cattle. This church community is "quintessential" as country churches go for all sorts of other reasons. The awesome sense of family rooted in tradition. Their propensity for frequent gatherings that involve delicious food. Heck -- they even have their own blogspot. How quintessential is THAT? Lynn and Lindy contributed to the "contemporary" worship scene with this fine group of folks a couple of years back. (Contemporary meaning although we played lots of old hymns and original spiritual songs -- we played them on our guitars!)
If you're visiting the area, this is a great place to "do church" and head back to the city feeling like you really visited the East Texas countryside. Amen!
(take 312 from 515/Coke Road -- next to Brookshires -- just two miles south of town, turn left or east on CR 4620, go around the bend, and Tinney Chapel is at 449 CR 4620) (903) 629-7696

If you ask a musician that question, they will tell you it's "An Acoustic Jam Fest". This is the musically correct explanation. Music fans that attend year in and year out will tell you it's more than that. It could also be called "Pickin', Campin', Vistin', Barbecuin', Story Swappin', Relaxin', Sippin', Strollin', and Listenin' in the Pines. It's a weekend event, so most folks arrive with tents or self-contained camper trailer. Guitar, flute, banjo, harmonica, fiddle, and mandolin are just a few of the instruments to enjoy and sing along with. Bring your own instrument of choice or just come and be a fan. Greenhorn campers enjoy a hot water shower and restroom for the guys and gals. If you can't camp out, you're still welcome to "come and go" just for Friday and/or Saturday night concerts if that is your preference.

Special Friends of Crossroads
- Peterson Ray & Company
- Not only is Bryan Peterson's and Scott Ray's company one of THE premier design firms in the Southwest, BRYAN is a primo musician in his own right - with two CDs of his own, and often touring as keyboardist with the one and only Jimmy LaFave! Peterson Ray & Co. designed our fantastic logo (which we're still figuring out how to showcase here!). THANKS for the great work, PR&Co! And Bryan, we hope you'll come out and play at "The Crossroads" one of these days!
BRAGGING RIGHTS:

- When visiting Winnsboro, be sure to visit our town's Chamber of Commerce, located on the west end of the historic Winnsboro Train Depot at the southeast corner of Main Street (TX-37) and Broadway (TX-11). The building is a beautifully restored historic treasure in our town. And you'll find all sorts of valuable information about things to see and do in our town and surrounding area. The Chamber is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., though they typically close from noon to 1 p.m.

- Just stumbled across this site. Interesting note, the "hardware store on Main Street" referred to in the description is (and has been since November 19 of 2005) the home of Crossroads Coffeehouse & Music Co. -- located in the former location of the historic McCrary's Hardware Store, which is now around the corner from us on Elm Street.
